Muskoka Summer Days. Went up to The Lake of Bays for a night to visit family who were staying at a lodge.
It was a fun time by all. There is nothing like Muskoka.

Time Sure flies! We celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary today. We went down to the old stomping grounds for dinner at North 44, it was fabulous. It was the same type of weather although we did have a sunny day, it was a hot one like today. I remember how heavy that bouquet was, but it was gorgeous.

I just finished a great book. I could not put it down once I was into it, I even stayed up until 2am finishing it. The main characters are very engaging and the story takes place over three different time periods. If you want a good summer read, pick up the forgotten garden.

The world's best turkey burgers! Someone wanted this recipe so I am posting it here:

3 green onions sliced
2 stalks celery finely chopped
1 1/2 green apples, finely chopped
splash of canola oil
2lbs ground turkey
ground pepper
1 tsp chiptole tabasco sauce
1/2 lemon juiced, 1tsp grated zest
1/4 cup chopped parsley
2 tbsp chutney (I use mango)

Saute the onion, celery and apple using the canola oil just until tender. Let cool. Mix the turkey with all the remaining ingredients and then add the apple mixture.

Form into burgers. Refridgerate for at least two hours.

Barbeque on a medium heat for about 7 minutes a side or until meat is cooked through.
Enjoy! These taste so good we have them more than regular burgers. You can make them up ahead of time and just throw them on the grill. Serve them with a bun and some chutney.

I recently made up three different wristlets for a special order. It is for a wedding and the bride is wearing a mauve dress with silver accessories. I found a beautiful silvery mauve duponi silk that I used. I made up three for her to choose from. I am not sure as of yet which one she picked. The wedding is on Friday evening. Congratulations to them both.

Don't forget I do custom orders.

Yesterday I participated in "An Afternoon in June," which was a charity lunch and sale that benefited Southlake Hospital's Cancer Program. It was a great day with a fashion show, vendor sale, wine bar and lunch.
I don't have any other summer shows booked, I will soon begin my winter season sewing for the Christmas One of A Kind Sale.

I have been busy working on some new bags for a show I am in this Sunday that supports Southlake Hospital's new Regional Cancer program. I have also been making button rings as seen above which I will have at the show for the first time. I have made all different kinds using new and vintage buttons. Here is the black rose on my old, veiny hands!

I am off to see Sex and the City with the neighbourhood gals tonight, I think I will accessorize with my flower ring and one of my flower bags in homage to Carrie! Then out for a cosmo after.

I hosted a party for my parent's 50th Anniversary, the weather was great, the food was amazing, the crowd of 65 had a great time. It was a success!

The cake was beautiful!

The happy couple cutting the cake! It was also a successful party for Krave, I ended up selling 15 bags!

Yesterday, I was a guest on the local cable tv show. I had about 8 minutes where I talked about my business and showed my bags. It was very exciting. Once I get the dvd of my segment I will post it here on my blog.
